Aigremont specialises in the manufacture of cooking and table margarines, blends margarine-butter, oils and fats for all purposes or even very specific products such as low trans vegetable fat flakes or greasing agent in sprays. It exports 60 per cent of its production, mainly to France, the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Italy, Austria and Eastern-European countries

The company has undertaken to conform with the Kyoto Protocol, limit greenhouse gas emissions.

The company invested in a renewable energy cogeneration plant under the guidance of Philippe Thiry, owner and managing director.

Since the summer of 2005, this plant has been producing the heat and electricity needed by Aigremont for its operations.

It is different from other existing facilities as it operates based on animal or vegetable oils and fats and is equipped with all of the gas-processing systems needed to respect the norms regarding atmospheric pollutant emissions set by the Walloon Region.

Practically, the non-renewable CO2 emissions of the factory have been reduced by 95 per cent.
