Space-saving UV transilluminator

Spectronics Corporation’s Slimline Series UV transilluminator is a super space-saver, which makes it very convenient for today’s crowded research laboratories. It measures only 11½ x 14 x 2¼ inches (29.2 x 35.6 x 5.7 cm), the size of the average laptop, yet it has virtually all the features of larger, more expensive transilluminators.

The Slimline transilluminator delivers a typical peak 312nm intensity of 9,000mW/cm2 at the filter surface, says Spectronics. It’s ideal for visualisation and photodocumentation of mini gels. An innovative diffusing screen ensures excellent light distribution and eliminates confusing light striations caused by the contours of the tubes.

The Longlife filter glass inhibits solarisation up to 50 times longer than ordinary filters, extending filter life dramatically and providing greater brightness during its life span. The Slimline transilluminator has a hinged UV-blocking cover, which protects users from UV radiation and shields the glass filter from damage caused by objects dropping on it.

The Slimline UV transilluminator ensures minimal photobleaching, photonicking and photodimerisation, because it eliminates transmission of harmful 254nm radiation. Samples last much longer, so analysis is faster and easier.
