Fruit flies, football and scientific fun

Integrated DNA Technologies (IDT), a leader in oligonucleotide synthesis, is embracing World Cup 2014 fever this year with its SciTourney contest - a world cup competition with a scientific twist.

Each of the 32 national teams participating in Brazil will be represented by a Drosophila melanogaster gene, making the contest a fun way for the scientific community to take part in the world’s greatest football tournament and discover fun facts about Drosophila at the same time.

Register for free by June 12th and pick winners of the group stage matches and then return on June 27th to pick your winners of the elimination stages.

Prizes include a 13-in MacBook Air, 32 GB iPad Mini, and official 2014 team gear. Make sure you and your colleagues are 'in-it-to-win-it', as registration closes on Thursday, June 12th at 4pm Eastern Time.
