Centrifuges open new dimension in performance

The Rotina420 centrifuges are developed for large volumes, yet are not overly large in size.

These compact centrifuges from Andreas Hettich are conceived for high sample throughput as well as for high sample volumes.

With a maximum capacity of 4x600ml, 140 blood collection tubes or 16 microtitre plates per run they are suitable for applications in clinical chemistry, in biotechnology and in life science research facilities.

With a choice of four swing-out rotors and four angle rotors plus a wide range of carriers and adapters, the Rotina420 and 420R (cooled model) enable virtually every centrifuging task required in daily laboratory routine. The centrifuges generate a max. RCF (Relative Centrifugal Force) of 24400g.

Extreme user-friendliness is provided by automatic lid locking, easy rotor changing, and uncomplicated programming. On the advanced C control panel parameter selection is done via the use of symbol keys. Values are set with the control knob, and recorded by pressing the Start key.

Nine braking and acceleration ramps, unbraked run-down, or a cut-off speed can be selected. Ninety-eight program memory positions are available. Additional program position ‘PREC’ (Pre-Cooling) is reserved for the pre-cooling program in the refrigerated Rotina 420R.

The temperature in the Rotina420R refrigerated centrifuge can be set in either Celsius (°C) or Fahrenheit (°F) degrees. The temperature range is between -20°C and 40°C or between -4°F and 104°F.

As options, the Rotina420R is also available with connection for nitrogen flushing for centrifugation of reactive substances or substances which are unstable in aerial oxygen or as heating/cooling version up to 90°C (or 194°F) for applications calling for temperatures over 40°C.
