Small bottle has a big impact for VitaGro Concentrates

RPC Containers Raunds has produced a custom moulded bottle for a new range of plant foods from Bayer CropScience.

VitaGro is Bayer's premium brand liquid fertiliser, sold through garden centres, Do It Yourself stores, and larger supermarkets in Norway, Sweden and Denmark. Although widely available in larger sizes, research indicated a shift towards smaller packs and Bayer has introduced three concentrated varieties - VitaGro Plantfood concentrate, VitaGro Citrusfood and VitaGro Orchidfood - capable of meeting this demand.

"The garden season does not wait for anybody, so we needed a reliable packaging supplier who could deliver an appropriate solution within a tight timeframe," explains Tomas Kvillstrom, Nordic Brand Manager for Bayer CropScience. "We have a good working relationship with RPC Raunds and knew that their expertise in garden care packaging would prove invaluable."

RPC Raunds' container has been designed to complement Bayer's existing NewGen bottle for herbicide concentrates. Blow moulded in natural HDPE, the 350 ml container offers a distinctive asymmetrical profile and curved sides for ease of handling.

It is enhanced with high gloss shrink sleeves designed to target the growing female garden care market. Alongside the familiar Bayer branding of a red line and folded corner, the new range incorporates bold colours, a soft green logo and eye-catching photography of flowers.

"The combination of a smaller size, excellent functionality and vivid decoration means that the VitaGro concentrate range will be unique on the shelf," confirms Tomas Kvillstrom. "We expect to really stand out, and are grateful for RPC Raunds' contribution."
